My research explores the information-sharing practices of artist-researchers. I’m interested in learning about how artist-researchers perceive and engage with research-creation—an approach that brings together creative and academic research practices–to conduct and share research.

About

Hello! My name is Andrea and I work as a PhD student at the University of British Columbia at the School of Information.

My research explores research-creation (RC), an approach that brings together creative and academic research practices, to conduct and share research. This Social Science and Humanities Research Council funded project looks through the analytical lens of information practice, with specific focus on information sharing. I’m interested in learning about how artist-researchers perceive and engage with research-creation modes and methods to generate new knowledge, negotiate academia, and conceptualize expertise.

I hold a Master in Library and Information Studies (Dalhousie University, 2015) and a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Film and German Studies (University of Manitoba, 2012). My work experience includes Dalhousie University Archives and Special Collections and Library and Archives Canada.

I am grateful for ocean swims and enjoy (trying) contemporary dance.
